American Scott Carroll, who by day works as a machinist in Illinois, can now add bluffing to his tool belt after winning the opportunity to get his mitts on over $100 million in tournament prize pools through Absolute Poker.
Carroll won the Absolute Dream Package final event on 4 March 2007, walking away with a prize package that includes entries into 10 of the richest poker tournaments including the World Series of Poker and several WPT events, a buy-in to the world's largest televised Texas Hold'em cash game and one-on-one training from poker pro Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi. The prize package, valued at some $125,000, will pit Carroll against poker's biggest pros for several shots at prize pools totaling over $100 million.
'Being a professional poker player has always been my dream,' said Carroll. 'I entered the Absolute Dream Package online poker tournament because I felt the chance to play in 10 huge poker tournaments would be an unbelievable opportunity.'
His instincts were right. Carroll invested $24 in a satellite at Absolute Poker, finishing second. He used his winnings from that event to cover over half of the entry fee to the Absolute Dream Package final event where he progressed to the final table and took the title.
Absolute Poker has announced that, due to the success of the promotion, it will now be giving another of its players the chance to follow in Scott Caroll's footsteps with another Dream Package tourney.
