888Live Local Heading To Brazil

Tuesday, 13 October 2015

888poker will be heading to Brazil in December for that latest incarnation of its 888Live Local live tour.

The land-based festival will see players given the chance to play for more than $150,000 in guaranteed prizes inside the 62,500-seat Mineirao Stadium.

The largest football stadium in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, the venue played host to a number of matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and is due to once again open its doors to some of the best football players in the world as part of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

But, before the pitch is used for its intended purpose, top poker talent from around South America will be on hand to compete for glory as part of 888Live.

Running from December 10 to 15, the Brazilian stop of the 888Live Local is to feature a $130 buy-in main event complete with a $130,000 guarantee as well as a series of side events. To ensure that this main event offers size and value, organisers will cap the final field for each of its three starting flights at 500, which means that the prize pool could reach as high as $195,000.

"I'm thrilled to welcome 888Live Local to Belo Horizonte and I am happy to be part of the most exciting poker festival in the world," said Bruno 'Foster' Politano, Brazil's first World Series Of Poker (WSOP) main event finalist.

"I look forward to meeting and competing against players from all around South America for a share of an amazing prize pool at this incredible location."
