24 left at EPT San Remo – Cada still challenging

Monday, 2 May 2011

Just 24 of the 987 EPT San Remo starters are still in the hunt for the €930,000 first prize after a short day's play yesterday.

Chile's Nicolas Younis heads the chip counts but most attention will be focussed on the man nursing the fifth largest stack, Joe Cada. The former World Champion is on course for his first major final table appearance since his 2009 WSOP win but will face tough competition from the likes of Max Lykov and Britain's Rupert Elder.

The action resumes this afternoon where the field will be whittled down to a final table of eight.

The leading chip counts are as follows:
Nicolas Yunis Chile 2281000
Rupert Elder United Kingdom 1894000
Luigi Pignataro Italy 1796000
Max Lykov Russia 1722000

Nicola Grieco Italy 615000
Andrew Teng United Kingdom1600000
Massimiliano Manigrasso Italy 1560000
