22 players confirmed for $1m 2012 WSOP charity tournament

Tuesday, 6 December 2011

The $1m buy-in event planned for WSOP 2012, with $111,111 from each buy-in going to Guy LaLiberte’s One Drop charity, has received 22 registrations. With this, it becomes an official bracelet event of the WSOP.

WSOP 2010 champion Jonathan Duhamel is one of the most recent names to sign up for the event. Should the total field size top 30, the first prize will eclipse Jamie Gold’s record $12m payday at WSOP 2006.

Others in the event include Tom Dwan, Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Chan as well as LaLiberte himself. Notably absent is Phil Ivey, though with many months to go until the event, that could well change following his appearance at APPT Macau.
