21 Left at PCA Main Event – Danchev Lead

Saturday, 12 January 2013

Dimitar Danchev is the chip leader heading into Day 5 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event. The Bulgarian heads a returning field of 21 runners thanks largely to scooping a huge pot just before yesterday's close of play.

The 26-year-old tangled with long-time chip leader Patrick Kelly who had called Danchev's pre flop four-bet. The Bulgarian led into the KhQh7c board only to watch Kelly move all in. After a lengthy tank, the former EPT San Remo runner eventually made the call, revealing kings which were way ahead of Kelly's 6s7s. The blanks on the turn and river sent Kelly to the rail and put Danchev in a dominant position with a huge stack of 4,008,000, over 1.5 million ahead of nearest rival Owen Crowe.

Other notables still in contention include SCOOP champion Ryan Fair, Yann Dion, Robert Mizrachi, Eddy Sabat, Manig Loeser, Olivier Busquet, Darren Elias, Guillaume Rivet and EPT Grand Final champion Mohsin Charania.

Blinds are at 10,000/20,000 with a 3,000 ante when play resumes when play resumes at 5pm UK time today with the 21 remaining players guaranteed a payout of at least $56,000.
