2013 WSOP November Nine Confirmed

2013 WSOP November Nine Confirmed

Thursday, 15 November 2012

The World Series of Poker has just announced the dates for its 44th incarnation of their summer festival.

Kicking off on May 29th, 2013, next year’s WSOP will run for 49 consecutive days and host a plethora of tournaments, satellites and cash games inside The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas.

In 2012 the WSOP attracted 74,766 players across a total of 61 bracelet events, not to mention countless others who attended the various non-title events as cash games.

It’s expected that the schedule will look much the same as last year with around 60 bracelet events being scheduled, including seniors, women’s and charity events all taking place in 2013.

One of the biggest revelations to come out of the announcement is that there will be a break before the WSOP Main Event concludes. Many in the community had speculated that the “November Nine” would be dropped this year and the action played straight through.

However, according to a tweet by the WSOP’s official Twitter account yesterday, there will be a hiatus before the final.

“WSOP ?@WSOP: Sorry to the conspiracy theorists, but the November Nine is once again a part of the 2013 WSOP schedule.”

The news will please many but be met with discontent from others who feel the break is unnecessary and inconvenient.

Regardless of this fact, the Main Event will kick off on July 7th and feature three starting days before wrapping up on July 16th when just nine players will remain.
