2011 World Series of Poker blind structure announced

Monday, 7 February 2011

In December we were already told of changes to the World Series of Poker schedule for 2011 including a record 58 events and a new $25,000 Heads-Up Championship. Last week, the structures were announced and published for the lucky ones among us who are planning to head out to Vegas for the summer.

The $5,000 NL events will begin with 15,000 chips and 50/75 blinds with a 60-minute clock; the smaller $1,000 and $1,500 events will begin at 25/25 blinds with 3,000 and 4,500 starting stacks. The $25,000 Heads-Up championship starts off with 250 big blinds at 75,000 starting stacks.
In all, 58 events will play out with 55 of them being open events outside of the Casino Employees’ $500 tournament and the $1,000 Seniors and Ladies’ events.

There will be almost a dozen $10,000 championship events in all forms of poker including 6-max NL as well as the Heads-Up and, of course, the $50,000 Players’ Championship. This time the $50,000 is at the end of the schedule near the Main Event, implying TV coverage for the prestigious tournament.
You can view the full structure details at the WSOP web site.
