2011 WSOP schedule announced

Friday, 24 December 2010

Barely a month has passed since Jonathan Duhamel was crowned the 2010 World Series of Poker champion but attention is already turning to the 2011 WSOP.

Organisers have confirmed that next year's WSOP will get under way at the Rio in Las Vegas on Tuesday 31 May 2011 and will run for fifty consecutive days. The new World Champion will start his (or her) quest for Main Event glory on one of four opening days on 7, 8, 9 or 10 July. The final table will be confirmed on 19 July with the last nine players once again returning for a November finish.

The first major change announced for the 2011 WSOP is hard stop times for all bracelet events. Play will come to a conclusion at the end of ten levels, regardless of how many players are left in the tournament.

The full tournament schedule, complete with buy-in and registration details will be released in January.
