2010 Irish Open Festival schedule confirmed

Thursday, 17 December 2009

Sponsor Paddy Power has confirmed the schedule for the 2010 Irish Open. The five-day festival will take place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin from 1st to 5th April. Top billing will go to the €3,200+€300 Main Event which starts on Friday 2nd April. Other events pencilled in are Pot Limit Omaha, a Ladies only tournament and a Scalp event.

“We’ve further improved the Irish Open side event schedule and I bet that some players will be upset there are not enough hours in the weekend to play them all. We are also delighted to launch the online registration facility for the Irish Open so that players eager to secure their seat at Europe’s longest running poker tournament can do so months in advance”, said Eric Booth, Head of Poker at paddypowerpoker.com. “The Irish Open festival is shaping up very nicely, with all the preparatory work really paying off and more players in our Super Satellites than ever before; the buzz is growing everyday!”

The festival will also see a return of the Sole Survivor promotion where the last remaining Paddy Power qualifier will collect a sponsorship package. Germany’s Marcel Koch won the €100,000 prize last year. Sweden’s Christer Johansson won last year’s Irish Open Main Event, beating Kara Scott to claim the €600,000 first prize.
