"We're really excited about the final table this year and we expect it to be just as good if not better than what we did last year," said Doug White, ESPN's Senior Director of Programming and Acquisitions. "We expect play to be stellar and we expect the drama to be there as well."


"When you start with Phil Ivey you are in great shape because it's the greatest player in the game trying to win the greatest event in the game, but beyond that, you do have that usual mix that you have at a Main Event final table and that's just terrific," said love-him-or-hate-him (we hate him) co-commentator Norman Chad said.


"It's just like anything else. If you look for the story, you will find it,” he added to the despair of anyone who wants to watch poker and not a load of X Factor style sob stories. “If you look at these guys, they are interesting. They are more interesting than they look at first glance."


Lon McEachern, Chad’s more down-to-earth co-host, believes that Eric Buchman has the best shot to win the title. The final table will play down until the heads-up stage on November 7 and a winner will be determined on November 9.
