James Akenhead - Exclusive video interview (Poker After Dark Spoilers)

James Akenhead - Exclusive video interview (Poker After Dark Spoilers)
Thursday, 5 November 2009

James Akenhead has made his presence felt in Las Vegas ahead of the World Series of Poker Main Event final table by securing a $120,000 win at the Golden Nugget casino on NBC’s hit poker show Poker After Dark.

Despite planning to stay clear of the poker tables before the big day, Akenhead couldn't resist the opportunity of starring on Poker After Dark.

Eric Lindgren, Mike Matusow, Brad Booth, Antonio Esfandiari, David Williams and Akenhead sat around the table for the Lonesome Sharks theme. Eventually, David Williams and James Akenhead made it to heads-up before the Hit Squaddie prevailed – you can watch it at NBC’s website.

Akenhead is a short-stack at the Main Event but we fancy his chances. This Poker After Dark win is the latest in a recent run of form (Poker Million, WSOPE) and the amount of support he has in Vegas is astonishing. We’ll be rooting for him anyway – let’s get a British Main Event winner in the history books.

See below for a video interview with Akenhead himself, in which he talks about his thoughts on his recent run of form and the November Nine final table. Interviewing him is Bluff Europe's very own Alex 'Pickleman' Rousso, whilst dodgy camera work could be attributed to... errr, me.
