Brits on the march in the 2009 Main Event

Friday, 10 July 2009

No Briton has ever gone the distance in the Main Event at the World Series Of Poker but maybe this could be the year. Of the 2,044 players remaining, over 80 are from the UK. Topping the list is Jamie Brown on 360,400 chips followed by Adam Latimer, James Keys and Hit Squad member James Akenhead.

Hendon mobsters Joe Beevers and Barny Boatman are still in the hunt as are other top British names Chas Chatta, Surinder Sunar, Karl Fenton, Jeff Kimber, Michael Greco, Julian Gardner, Kara Scott and Roland de Wolfe.

The Irish challenge is headed by Andy Black on 215,600 chips followed by Fergal Nealon, Michael O’Sullivan and Michael Graydon.

With 648 players making the money we’ll hopefully have good things to report over the next few days.
