James Akenhead has landed, documenting on Neil Channing’s BlackBelt Poker site that he and an entourage of 70 people have arrived in Las Vegas in preparation for the World Series of Poker Main Event final table that is just under one week away.

“Overall, I'm taking over 70 people to Vegas. Harrah's give you 70 seats in the theatre, and I've maxed that out,” he wrote. “Ten of us flew from Gatwick yesterday, including the [Hit] Squad, Sam Trickett, Jeff Kimber and Martins Adeniya.”


The infamous Brits on Holiday stereotype of too much booze won’t be applicable to Mr. Akenhead, though. Not yet, anyway – no boozing until after the final table, he writes. “I want to be mentally and physically prepared.”


James begins the final table on November 7 as 9th out of 9, with 6.8m chips.
