The starting field of 329 runners at WPT Merit Classic Cyprus has been whittled down to just 16 with Erik Cajelais leading the way.

There's plenty of talent further down the chip counts with former WPT champion Sam El Sayed, Marvin Rettenmaier and Robert Mizrachi all still in the hunt for the $287,748 first prize.


The money bubble burst yesterday with the 18 remaining players all guaranteed a pay day of at least $13,420.


The action resumes at 11am UK time when the field will play down to a final table of six.
