16 left at EPT Grand Final – Pantling leads

Saturday, 11 May 2013

Just 16 players are left at the PokerStars EPT Grand Final Main Event with Andrew Pantling leading the chase for the €1,224,000 first prize. The Canadian rocketed to the chop of the chip counts after winning a huge pot with long-time chip leader Johnny Lodden just before the close.

Pantling returns today with 2,248,000 giving him a chunky lead over closest rivals John Juanda (1,395,000), Lodden (1,352,000) and Daniel Negreanu (1,257,000).

There's plenty of class on show further down the field too with the likes of Freddy Deeb, Victor Ramdin, Jason Mercier and Andrew Lichtenberger all very much in contention. Jake Cody will have his work cut out though. The Rochdale-pro returns as the short stack with 266,000 chips.

Today's survivors are all guaranteed a score of at least €37,000 with the final table of eight taking home at least €103,000.
