Getting married is usually something of a gamble. That gamble usually involves finding a partner for life. That's not the only punt that takes place at a wedding though according to a new survey from Ladbrokes, with 11 percent of people saying “I do” to an online flutter while at a wedding.

Wagering when you should be watching the happy couple wasn't the only surprising result from the Ladbrokes poll. According to the study 13 percent also had a bet while at a christening while 11 percent have admitted having a sneaky bet while on a date. Who says romance is dead.

The workplace came out as the top place to have a flutter outside the home with 35 percent of respondents admitting to having a bet on work time.

Couples from Birmingham were most likely to bet together with 35 percent of Brummies playing mobile games together.

The start of the weekend is no longer the prime time for online and mobile gaming. 6pm on Monday has replaced between 8pm and 9pm on Friday as the most popular time to log on and play.
