Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson has become the first professional poker player to win three World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Circuit events after taking down the Harvey's Tahoe championship event on Sunday. The five-time WSOP bracelet winner entered the final table with a dominating chip lead that was actually larger than the stacks of seven of his eight opponents at the Harvey's Tahoe WSOP Circuit Main Event. Ferguson fell behind late in play to local-hero Dustin Fox but managed to eliminate Mark Bonsack in third place to take the chip lead. On the very next hand, he got all of Fox's chips in the middle with a set of tens to beat out Fox's pocket aces. Ferguson won $203,751 for his performance in Nevada, which means that he has now won over six million dollars during his career, solidifying the 2000 WSOP Main Event champion as one of the most successful poker players of all-time. More than $1.2 million of that total comes from his two previous WSOP Circuit victories, $655,220 at the 2005 Harrah's Rincon event and $362,088 for the 2005 Harrah's Las Vegas event. The $340 buy-in preliminary event drew 484 entrants, making it the second-largest WSOP Circuit event ever held, with the buy-in for the Main Event lowered from $10,000 to $5,000. The next Circuit event will begin this Monday at Harrah's New Orleans in Louisiana.
