€1m guaranteed first prize at Wembley as ISPT partners with Dusk Till Dawn!

Britain's largest poker venue, Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) has announced details of a huge new partnership with International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) to licence, market and guarantee this year's ISPT event at Wembley with the familiar figure of Simon Trumper taking over the reins as the new ISPT tournament director.

The big news is that the tournament will now feature a guaranteed first prize of €1m, regardless of the number of runners. In order to avoid an overlay, the total prize pool will need to reach €5m which means at least 16,000 Day 1A players at €270+€30 plus 250 players buying in directly at €2,700+€30.

Of course Dusk Till Dawn are no strangers to meeting big expectations when it comes to running huge events. The Nottingham-venue played host to a massive UKIPT tournament last year which attracted 1,625 runners and smashed the club's £1m guarantee.

“Organising the Caribbean Poker Party in St Kitts has whet our appetite for more adventure outside our four walls,” said DTD owner Rob Yong. “ISPT's revised format is like a supersized version of our own Grand Prix which is my favourite tournament concept.

“If Wembley is a success, I believe ISPT could be replicated in other iconic venues across the world generating huge prize pools and giving poker fantastic mainstream exposure, just look at Wembley's official website – ISPT is alongside the FA Cup Final, Champions League Final and Bruce Springsteen's concert.

“This event is a 'win-win' for the UK poker community; it will either be a great success with thousands of players, or there will be a massive overlay. To put this guarantee into perspective, DTD's monthly £300 Deepstack pays £40,000 to the winner – 120 x the £336 buy-in whereas the €1m first prize at ISPT Wembley will be a staggering 3,333 x the €300 buy-in.”

Players with queries regarding all elements of ISPT Wembley, which is scheduled to take place from 31 May until 5 June 2013, will be able to pose them to Trumper via a dedicated ISPT thread at the BlondePoker forum.

The ISPT partnership is the second piece of big news to emanate from Dusk Till Dawn in recent weeks. The club recently announced that it's online site at DTDPoker.com was moving to the iPoker network after agreeing a three year deal with Genting.
