As part of a membership drive, the Poker Player’s Alliance (PPA), a lobbying group for the online poker industry, has teamed up with PokerStars.com to gold a series of $1 entry online poker tournaments with $5,000 added to each prizepool.
The tournaments are open to all Pokerstars players and take place at 21:30 ET every night this week until Friday. Registration begins two hours ahead of each start time and is capped at 8,000 players and players may only enter one tournament this week.
By entering the tournament, players agree to become free, introductory members of the PPA and grant Pokerstars the right to pass their name, address, e-mail, and date of birth to the PPA accordingly.
The PPA is a non-profit lobbying group for the online poker industry and, with support from the PocketFives website, it has encouraged many of its members to speak out against the internet gambling legislation currently pending in the United States Senate.
