Fast action from the kick off in Las Vegas as Day 2a sprung into life from the very first flop. Even while players had plenty of play available to them with the average stack containing a lot of big blinds, it didn’t stop the small blinds feeling pressurised by some of the huge stacks around them. As a result, the bustouts were fast and furious, while the rich got even richer.
One player who is on a definite heater is Brian Shaedlich. Beginning the day a little over 160,000, he bagged around 750,000 at the end of the day to be a massive chip leader on the rest of the field. He does have a pack of players seeking to close that gap, including second placed Hunter Frey on 378,000, as well as David Rheem and Robert Mizrachi in third and fourth respectively. Another pro who is sat in the top ten is Brandon Adams, who did enough to see the night out in ninth place.
For those of you who were sweating some of the big name players, here’s a list of some of the notable casualties from Day 2a.
Jordan Morgan, Ciaran O’Leary, Mickey Wernick, Dario Alioto, John Hennigan, Ray Romano, Nick Schulman, Billy Baxter, Jesse Jones, Barry Greenstein, Erick Lindgren, Kathy Liebert, Ted Lawson, Paul Wasicka, 2001 Robert Varkonyi, Greg Mueller, David Grey, Perry Friedmen, Philip Hilm, Anna Wroblewski, Thomas Wahlroos, Scotty Nguyen, Lee Markholt, Harry Demetriou, Jimmy Fricke, Bill Edler, Haralabos Voulgaris, Julian Gardner, Neil Channing and Barry Shulman.
