On what is turning out to be a muggy Friday afternoon here in the Bluff Europe towers, you sometimes need a story like this to make you smile. An American man was arrested recently after he had attempted to bet an ounce of weed at a blackjack table in the US.

Inside the Casino 1 venue in downtown Fresno, California, the player reached into his pocket and produced an ounce of marijuana buds. Realising he might have overbet slightly, he then emptied out a handful of them onto the table, leaving the dealer slightly confused. After his arrest, the stoner then attempted to claim what he had done was legal as he had a Cannabis Club card he’d got from the internet.

That’s not the only bad news for the man concerned though, who may face another bad beat after his ‘bet’ could be seen as distribution in the eyes of the courts. Should that be the case, the man may face a longer stretch in prison.
