Eddie Scharf’s Pot-Limit HA (Hold ‘em and Omaha Hi in interchanging rounds) surpassed the $150,000 guarantee with a prize pool of over $180,000 and the Phil Gordon-hosted $300 rebuy/add-on Hold ‘em tournament saw an overlay of over $100,000 on the guarantee of $1m.

Kicking off all-new action in Season VII, World Poker Tour returns to Casino Barcelona next week for the second WPT Spanish Championship.
Held from 21st – 27th May, the Second WPT Spanish Championships features a €5000 + 300 main event beginning at Casino Barcelona on 23rd May and concluding with the final table 27th May, which will not be filmed for television.

The Sunday Business Post newspaper in Ireland has suggested that the Irish government has been lobbied by casino operators wanting to set up casinos in the country.
Harrah’s have allegedly proposed a €350 million resort casino, which would create 2,000 jobs.

For the first time in the competition’s history, the Party Poker Million has been won by a German. Twenty-five year old Mathematics student Alexander Jung beat 171 other players to the first place prize of over $350,000.
