My little dog Mushu.

December 2004. Winning the final tournament at the WPT Bellagio, capping off a crazy year. I won $1.8m at that event, and was WSOP Player of the Year and WPT Player of the Year.

Poker teaches patience, but also a calculated aggressiveness. You want to take risks but you want be smart about it.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen at a poker table?

The most disgusting thing I saw recently was Dan Heimiller clipping his toenails at the table. I thought that was gross.

It’s a Devilfish joke. Devilfish was playing at a table and a guy beat him in a pot and he said, “If brains was made out of rubber, you wouldn’t have enough to cover a tadpole’s flip-flop.”

Who’s your favourite poker player?

I don’t really have a favourite. I guess it’s me.

Do you have any leaks in your game?

Of course. Everyone does. The biggest leak you can have is not realising you have leaks.

I was a telemarketer for exactly one afternoon.

Who’s your hero outside of poker?

Barack Obama.

Play golf and drink with friends.

Yes.

What’s the biggest bluff you’ve ever made in life?

I don’t do a lot of bluffing because I’m a pretty straight shooter. I know that’s a boring answer but it’s true.
